Leaders of the Profession to Keynote Society of Fire Protection Engineers 2010 Professional Development Conference and Exposition


The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) will host its 2010 Professional Development Conference and Exposition October 3-8, 2010 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans, LA.

This is the premier educational event for fire protection professionals and will include two days of “cutting-edge” presentations that advance the science and technology that keeps people and property safe from fire. Keynote speakers for this conference will include:


• Craig L. Beyler of Hughes Associates, Inc, USA
• Richard G. Gann of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA
• Edward Plaugher of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, USA
• J. Kenneth Richardson of Ken Richardson Fire Technologies, Inc., Canada
• Robert P. Schifiliti of R.P. Schifiliti Associates, Inc., USA
• Takeyoshi Tanaka of Disaster Prevention Reserach Institute, Japan

“The keynote speakers for this year’s event are some of the most authoritative and well respected names in the field of fire protection,” said Chris Jelenewicz, Engineering Program Manager at SFPE. “They will lead sessions along with dozens of other presentations that will make this a truly unique educational opportunity.”
Included in this event will be an Engineering Technology Exposition that will be held on October 5. Over 40 of the leading fire protection organizations will be exhibiting their products and services. This year’s exposition will also include a series of exhibitor presentations that will feature state-of-the-art advancements in fire protection technology.
