SFPE Northern California/Nevada Chapter Awards 20011 Scholarship

Left to Right: John Woycheese, Mark Ferraresi

The Society of Fire Protection Engineers-Northern California/Nevada Chapter awarded their 2011 scholarship to Mark Ferraresi. This annual Scholarship is to encourage new interest in study leading to a career as an FPE. Mr. Ferraresi is an Eagle Scout from the bay area and will participate in the new FPE program at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, working toward a Masters Degree.

The award was presented by John Woycheese, President, at the joint SFPE/NorCal Fire Prevention Officers meeting in San Francisco. Mr. Woycheese is also a previous recipient of the SFPE Scholarship. Local monthly SFPE meetings are open to all, and alternate between San Francisco and the East Bay.

Invitation to Participate in the SFPE Alliance of Young Engineers Survey

The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) is in the process of establishing an Alliance of Young Engineers (AYE) to help promote activities for and participation by those interested in fire protection engineering 35 years of age and younger. In order to determine who wants to be involved and what activities most interest them, we would like to poll prospective members.

Participants will complete an online survey about what their current involvement is with SFPE – both on a local level and with SFPE International – and what activities most interest them professionally and socially. The survey can be completed in less than 5 minutes.

Your participation is essential in providing direction to the AYE and its initial success. We thank you in advance for taking the time to participate. All survey responses will be kept confidential.

Instructions for participation: To access the online form, please click on the following URL or copy the URL to your web browser, http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22BZAW7NWZH/.
